The men's 15 kilometre freestyle cross-country skiing competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada, was held on 15 February at Whistler Olympic Park in Whistler, British Columbia, at 12:30 PST. Each skier starts at 30-second intervals, skiing the entire 15 kilometre course. Estonia's Andrus Veerpalu is both the two-time defending Olympic and World champion in this event, though all three were held in the classical event. Whistler Olympic Park
The Whistler Olympic Park is the location of the Nordic events facilities for the 2010 Winter Olympics and is located in the Madeley Creek basin in the Callaghan Valley, west of Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. Ivan Sergeyevich Babikov (russian: Иван Сергеевич Бабиков); born July 4, 1980 in Syktyvkar) is a Russian-born Canadians, Canadian cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier who competed between 2002 and 2016. Tobias Angerer (born 12 April 1977 in Traunstein, Bavaria) is a German cross-country skier, and skis with the SC Vachendorf club. He graduated from the Skigymnasium Berchtesgaden in 1996. His occupation is "Sports Soldier". Angerer has been competing since 1996. Biography Angerer turned 18 in 1995 in his first big event, the 10 km classical at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Asiago, Italy. Maurice Manificat (born 4 April 1986) is a French cross-country skier who has competed since 2004. Career He has achieved three World Cup victories, in Lahti (March 2010), in Canmore (December 2012), both in the 15 km + 15 km double pursuit event, and in Davos (December 2017), in 15 km freestyle. Manificat also finished 47th in the 15 km + 15 km double pursuit event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec. Vincent Vittoz
Vincent Vittoz (born 17 July 1975 in Annecy, Haute-Savoie) is a French former cross-country skier, non-commissioned officer and coach. He grew up in the town of La Clusaz in the Northern French Alps and has been competing since 1982. He made his FIS Cross-Country World Cup debut in January 1996 in Nové Město na Moravě, finishing 22nd in a 15 km classical race. He won a gold medal in the 15 km + 15 km double pursuit at the 2005 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf. As of 2018 Vittoz is the only French cross-country skiing world champion. Carl Marcus Joakim Hellner (born 25 November 1985) is a Swedish former cross-country skier who competed between 2003 and 2018. He retired at the end of the 2017-18 FIS World Cup season. Athletic career Hellner had a total of seven victories in the junior levels of cross-country skiing up to 30 km from 2003 to 2005.
